Job Summary

Perform electrical studies for ESSP projects, including protective relaying, power system planning, design studies, and SCADA networking/communications. Use specialized analysis tools to support studies, configure and troubleshoot RTU/relay/HMI networks, develop logic and control schemes, and ensure NERC compliance. Contribute to technical reports, risk identification, work-plan preparation, and coordination of field/site work and permitting across Albuquerque, NM or Las Vegas, NV.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform protective relaying analysis, including time-current coordination, relay settings, SCADA integration, NERC compliance, and arc flash analysis.
•Conduct power system planning studies such as steady-state power flow, outage contingency analysis, voltage stability margins, and dynamic stability performance using NERC regional models.
•Lead design studies covering grounding, insulation coordination, transient (time-domain) simulation, and power quality analyses using specified software.
•Design and configure SCADA networking/communications paths for RTUs, relays, meters, HMIs, and PLCs; troubleshoot and commission systems at project sites.
•Write technical reports and assist with risk identification, work-plan preparation, permitting coordination, and assigned training.

Key Requirements

•BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering), BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology), or BSCE (BS Computer Engineering) degree from an ABET-accredited university.
•3 to 5 years of industry experience performing design or device configuration in electrical studies, SCADA, and system protection-related work.
•Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and their application to design/build and permitting/project work.
•Analytical mindset and ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
