Key Responsibilities

  • •Launch and lead a world-class EHS program at the new biomanufacturing facility, building a safety culture focused on behaviors, leadership, open reporting, accountability, and helping others.
  • •Oversee biosafety, chemical safety, and physical safety programs for cell and gene therapy operations, including containment, decontamination, and regulated waste disposal.
  • •Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and risk evaluations for novel advanced therapies, and manage EHS compliance for occupational/process safety, permitting, exposure protection, OSHA reporting, and waste management.
  • •Provide EHS input into laboratory and manufacturing suite design and equipment/function.
  • •Lead root-cause incident investigations, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and drive development/implementation of EHS programs, inspections, and training targeting ISO45001 and ISO14001 certification.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related scientific field.
  • •8+ years of experience establishing new facilities for GMP manufacturing biologics or cell and gene therapies.
  • •Preferred biosafety and safety credentials: RBP or CBSP, CSP, or CIH.
  • •Ability to work independently and use sound judgment and professional maturity.
  • •Ability to work onsite in Pittsburgh, PA.
