Source new eligible mortgage loan business from inbound and self-generated leads, including networking with banking centers, realtors, home builders, financial planners, and other referral partners. Maintain knowledge of bank credit policies and GSE/FHA/VA guidelines, oversee the customer experience through closing, and adhere to all regulatory and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Originate eligible mortgage loans by generating referral activity from banking centers, realtors, home builders, financial planners, networking groups, trade associations, and personal sphere of influence.
•Review loan applications, identify required documentation, discuss ability to repay and relevant credit policy, and communicate realistic expectations for the mortgage process.
•Maintain communication and working relationships with bank personnel in mortgage fulfillment and with management.
•Meet with potential customers to understand financial needs and present appropriate mortgage products.
•Oversee the customer experience through the entire loan process from origination and analysis to loan closing while adhering to bank policies and regulatory/legal requirements.

Key Requirements

•High school graduate or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
•Knowledge of bank consumer mortgage lending policies, procedures, and guidelines.
•Understanding of financial analysis and creditworthiness determination; NMLS certified.
•3 to 5 years of prior mortgage banking experience, including working knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, and VA.
•Excellent communication and public relations skills, including solid interviewing ability.
