Key Responsibilities

  • •Supervise detention officers and provide on-the-job training and guidance to improve performance and reinforce critical responsibilities.
  • •Deliver training programs for detention staff, including classroom and firearms range training, exam proctoring, and maintaining complete training records.
  • •Oversee daily on-site operations including security, scheduling/breaks, detainee counts, facility inspections, and consistent service delivery across shifts.
  • •Respond to and manage emergencies by briefing staff, documenting incidents with verbal/written reports, and reporting emergencies to the PM and/or COR.
  • •Ensure ongoing compliance with ICE National Detention Standards, policies, and orders; conduct daily quality assurance inspections and correct discrepancies on the spot.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold an accredited bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or have three to five years of related industry experience managing a secure hold room/detention facility.
  • •Minimum 2 years managing diverse and integrated workforces, with experience supervising and training detention/custody staff.
  • •Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance and meet pre-employment and random drug tests and background screenings.
  • •Be certified as an instructor (state or nationally recognized) and obtain certification as a certified firearms instructor and Red Cross CPR/AED First Aid instructor.
  • •Maintain required physical fitness, firearms proficiency, and meet age and licensing requirements (21+, valid driver’s license and Firearms Carry Permit; armed state security guard license from Minnesota or Nebraska).
