Key Responsibilities

•Own the application platform providing technical thought leadership, system engineering oversight, as well as configuration and support activities across all application platforms (web, application, portal, etc.).
•Lead an automation-driven, hands-on engineering effort to manage a complex application platform environment including deployment, alerts, monitoring, and tuning for a large enterprise environment.
•Review technical requirements to build, configure and support an integrated private cloud-enabled application platform meeting technical, performance and application requirements.
•Foster close working relationships with application developers, Build Engineers, Infrastructure Engineers, etc. and support all phases of development, testing and deployment including Agile, Continuous Delivery/Integration, with rotating production on-call to ensure SLAs.
•Learn new skills quickly, collaborate with others for delivery, self-direct for deliverables, and manage multiple priority tasks concurrently.

Key Requirements

•7+ years of relevant Unix/Linux experience
•Strong knowledge of Java applications, Tomcat, Apache, JBoss, JMS queues and other open source software
•Automation experience in ANT, Ruby, PERL scripts, Shell Scripting, Chef/Puppet, Jython/JACL, Maven, etc.
•Knowledge in UNIX shell scripts, UNIX system concepts, VMware/KVM/XEN, Java, J2EE, Oracle databases, networking, Configuration Management tools, Nagios
•Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent education and experience
