Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and maintain EHS programs and ensure regulatory compliance across OSHA, Cal/OSHA, CAP, CLIA, and NYSDOH requirements.
  • •Serve as the primary EHS point of contact for regulatory inquiries, inspections, and surveys; translate new/revised requirements into actionable updates.
  • •Plan and conduct comprehensive quarterly safety inspections, document findings, assign corrective actions with owners and due dates, and prepare summary reports.
  • •Oversee hazardous waste management and hazardous materials processes, including manifests/profiles, waste accumulation area inspections, and SDS library maintenance.
  • •Lead incident and near-miss management, including response, investigations/root cause analyses, CAPAs, OSHA recordkeeping, and worker’s compensation reporting support.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • •3–5 years of EHS experience, preferably in a clinical laboratory, biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environment.
  • •Working knowledge of OSHA (29 CFR 1910 Subparts H, I, J, Z), Cal/OSHA Title 8, and California hazardous waste regulations (DTSC/CalRecycle).
  • •Familiarity with CAP accreditation standards and CLIA safety requirements in a laboratory setting.
  • •Demonstrated experience conducting safety inspections, writing inspection reports, and driving corrective actions to closure.
