Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide support to more senior team members in delivering Ground Investigation projects.
  • •Support site supervision, including site safety management and technical supervision of AECOM/subcontractor teams with on-site briefings.
  • •Undertake fieldwork activities such as trial pitting, borehole drilling, structural/pavement coring, in-situ testing, soil/water sampling, and groundwater/ground gas monitoring.
  • •Log rocks and soils in accordance with BS5930.
  • •Assist with the preparation of reports and factual deliverables.

Key Requirements

  • •BSc in Geology or another relevant subject area.
  • •Full UK driving licence.
  • •Good communication skills and a desire to learn, take responsibility for quality, and work effectively in a team.
  • •Keen interest in geological processes and fieldwork, with experience undertaking fieldwork.
  • •Knowledge of BS5930 for soil/rock logging; experience with geotechnical log production software (e.g., OpenGround, gINT, Holebase) is expected, alongside MS Office use and relevant H&S qualifications (PTS/CSCS or similar).
