Key Responsibilities

  • •Follow company and site-specific safety rules, the Safety Program, and Life Saving Rules; respond to safety alerts, warnings, and hazards.
  • •Work as part of a team under the direction of a foreman/general foreman; communicate effectively and work safely and productively.
  • •Read and interpret drawings/blueprints and follow specifications; apply mathematics and geometry to solve scaffolding-related problems.
  • •Plan work by selecting tools/equipment/materials; perform load calculations, design and erect scaffolding (ground-based and suspended).
  • •Inspect scaffolding and materials regularly, track scaffolding material inventory, perform rigging duties, and apply proper signage/tags for safety hazards.

Key Requirements

  • •Complete 3 periods (minimum 1600hrs) of relevant on-the-job experience with Journeyperson training credentials from a Canadian Accredited Training Institution, or provide evidence to be deemed a Journeyperson.
  • •Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the scaffolding trade.
  • •Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.
  • •Worked as part of a team and can take directions.
  • •Demonstrate competence in the scaffolding trade.
