Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage day-to-day project delivery for UK highway schemes, leading planning and ensuring adequate design and compliance with standards and legislation.
  • •Develop and apply advanced engineering concepts to unique highway design problems, seeking innovation in delivery techniques.
  • •Ensure projects are delivered to budget, programme, and technical standards while meeting QA, CDM, sustainability, and HSE requirements.
  • •Provide line management with mentoring and guidance to team members, including supporting technical and professional development.
  • •Manage processes to resolve technical issues and risks in a timely and cost-effective manner; support internal client liaison, financial control, recruitment, and fee proposals.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 5 years of UK highway design experience (road geometry, restraint systems, site clearance, pavement, signage, and road markings).
  • •Demonstrated ability to direct and check the use of design software including Civil 3D, Open Roads, MX, PDS/Key Line and Sign, AutoCAD, and ProjectWise.
  • •Experience leading a team and managing stakeholders, including operational management of a team of up to 15 staff.
  • •Demonstrable experience in resource and project management and producing technical specifications and reports.
  • •Bachelor’s or post-graduate degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with over 12 years’ post-graduate experience in highway design; near Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (desired).
