Job Summary

Support Zurich’s Legal team in managing legal, regulatory, and corporate governance risks in the Isle of Man business. Work under senior supervision on company secretariat activities, governance documentation, and conflict escalation. Assist lawyers with non-insurance commercial matters such as procurement contracts, data protection and privacy, and employment-related issues, while helping maintain relationships with insurance regulators and monitoring legal developments.

Key Responsibilities

•Support and promote Zurich values, ethics, and responsible business conduct in day-to-day work.
•Assist the Company Secretariat with board and committee/statutory meetings, meeting packs, governance documentation, and support for board effectiveness reviews, renewals, and Director training.
•Help identify and escalate potential conflicts between management and legal entity perspectives, ensuring they are managed appropriately.
•Support more senior lawyers with legal advice on non-insurance commercial activities including sourcing/procurement contracts, data protection and privacy, and HR/employment-related matters.
•Maintain relationships with insurance regulators by helping prepare documentation and information for regulatory interactions, and help monitor legal/regulatory developments with initial summaries and briefing materials.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s or master’s degree in law (LL.B or equivalent); an LL.M or further relevant qualification is an advantage.
•Newly qualified or post‑qualification experience as an Attorney-at-Law, Manx advocate, solicitor, or barrister.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain legal concepts clearly and concisely.
•Some exposure to insurance, financial services, or regulatory work is helpful (not essential) with a genuine interest in developing expertise.
•Good analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and a practical mindset.
