Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide non-medical, short-term, solution-focused counseling to adults, children, and youth of service members, including assessment, brief counseling, consultation, action planning, referrals, and follow-up.
  • •Deliver CYB support in CDCs, DoDEA/community schools, youth programs, and summer camps, including parent training and guidance.
  • •Conduct training and health and wellness presentations and participate in health fairs and other installation activities.
  • •Enter counselor activity data daily via smartphone or web application while maintaining confidentiality and anonymity.
  • •Coordinate with installation and military points of contact and supervisors to ensure services are within scope and respond to critical incidents and special requests.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree in a mental health-related field or social work from an accredited graduate program.
  • •Current independent-level state licensure as a mental health counselor/therapist/social worker (e.g., LPC) meeting state/customer requirements.
  • •Advanced knowledge of brief therapy and solution-focused counseling methods.
  • •Must be able to accept short-notice assignments that may include weekends, covering assignments ranging from weekends to two weeks.
  • •Ability to prove US citizenship and be fluent in English.
