Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide prime responsibility for implementing and enforcing HSE policies, procedures and plans in collaboration with HSE Advisors.
  • •Identify potential HSE hazards with contractors and ensure risk treatments are implemented.
  • •Ensure quality of work and compliance with drawings, specifications, and schedules by coordinating with Site Quality Coordinator and Engineering.
  • •Plan construction methods and coordinate problems with the Construction Manager; interpret engineering drawings and prepare field sketches.
  • •Monitor installation of materials/equipment for conformance with drawings and specifications; supervise contractor activities for regulatory compliance.
  • •Inspect contractor works to ensure acceptable standards; manage punch lists and pre-commissioning data; maintain records for progress and claims.
  • •WITNESS/record pre-commissioning data and ensure as-built information is captured per contract requirements.
  • •Liaise with Quantity Surveyor to ensure timely measurement and cost awareness; maintain detailed daily diaries for project tracking.

Key Requirements

  • •HSE policy implementation and enforcement on site with contractors
  • •Adherence to AFC project drawings, specifications, ITPs and site instructions
  • •Manage HSES and quality within assigned areas and ensure contractor compliance with project schedule
  • •Experience with AutoCAD and field documentation; strong understanding of permits to work and lockout procedures
  • •Minimum 10 years in construction on multi-disciplinary mining/mineral processing projects; thorough knowledge of OHS Act and Mine Health and Safety Act
