Job Function: Construction, Civil & Site Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Provide prime responsibility for implementing and enforcing HSE policies, procedures and plans in collaboration with HSE Advisors.
•Identify potential HSE hazards with contractors and ensure risk treatments are implemented.
•Ensure quality of work and compliance with drawings, specifications, and schedules by coordinating with Site Quality Coordinator and Engineering.
•Plan construction methods and coordinate problems with the Construction Manager; interpret engineering drawings and prepare field sketches.
•Monitor installation of materials/equipment for conformance with drawings and specifications; supervise contractor activities for regulatory compliance.
•Inspect contractor works to ensure acceptable standards; manage punch lists and pre-commissioning data; maintain records for progress and claims.
•WITNESS/record pre-commissioning data and ensure as-built information is captured per contract requirements.
•Liaise with Quantity Surveyor to ensure timely measurement and cost awareness; maintain detailed daily diaries for project tracking.

Key Requirements

•HSE policy implementation and enforcement on site with contractors
•Adherence to AFC project drawings, specifications, ITPs and site instructions
•Manage HSES and quality within assigned areas and ensure contractor compliance with project schedule
•Experience with AutoCAD and field documentation; strong understanding of permits to work and lockout procedures
•Minimum 10 years in construction on multi-disciplinary mining/mineral processing projects; thorough knowledge of OHS Act and Mine Health and Safety Act
