Key Responsibilities

  • •Own end-to-end payroll processing across all pay cycles to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • •Manage compliance across federal, state, and local requirements including tax withholding/filings, wage-and-hour rules, garnishments, and W-2 processing.
  • •Partner with the People team on onboarding, compensation changes, benefits and equity-related payroll, and off-boarding.
  • •Manage third-party payroll providers and reconcile payroll to the general ledger, resolving discrepancies quickly.
  • •Build payroll policies, controls, and documentation to make payroll scalable, audit-ready, and self-service while bringing AI/automation with guardrails.

Key Requirements

  • •5-7 years of payroll experience with hands-on ownership of end-to-end payroll processing at a high-growth company.
  • •Extremely high discretion and ownership for confidential, time-sensitive matters.
  • •Deep knowledge of multi-state payroll compliance (tax withholding and filings, wage-and-hour rules, garnishments, and year-end reporting).
  • •Hands-on payroll systems and third-party provider experience (e.g., Rippling, Gusto, ADP, Workday) including implementations or transitions.
  • •Strong payroll accounting skills reconciling payroll to the general ledger and partnering on the monthly close, with demonstrated AI/automation use.
