Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, coordinate, analyze, implement, and administer database solutions, including database server configuration and ongoing maintenance.
  • •Analyze client infrastructure and processes and recommend best practices to improve operational procedures, maximizing uptime and recoverability.
  • •Administer backup procedures and disaster recovery plans, proactively monitor for issues, respond to alerts, and troubleshoot operational problems.
  • •Oversee backup-related data integrity and recovery activities such as clustering, mirroring, replication, failover, and restoration of corrupted databases.
  • •Participate in on-call rotation and manage client commitments and incident/status reporting, including documentation and alignment with change control and operating procedures.

Key Requirements

  • •Knowledge and experience installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle databases and relevant Oracle administration tools.
  • •Automation experience with technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, and/or SALT.
  • •Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills to methodically resolve complex database issues and apply fixes.
  • •Very good documentation skills, including maintaining client documentation for handoffs, briefings, warnings, and action plans.
  • •Experience with Oracle-focused monitoring and cloud-native managed database monitoring tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Google Cloud Operations, Azure Monitor) is a plus.
