Key Responsibilities

  • •Drive execution of Visa’s quantum computing research agenda in Singapore, translating strategic priorities into scoped research programs and deliverables.
  • •Design, analyze, implement, and evaluate novel quantum algorithms, protocols, computational methods, and research prototypes for financial services, payments, and security.
  • •Contribute to building out the Singapore Quantum CoE, including research operations, project planning, external engagement, and cross-team coordination.
  • •Lead complex research projects end-to-end, including technical planning, execution tracking, synthesis of findings, and communication of results.
  • •Collaborate with internal and external partners, publish findings, represent Visa at conferences, and help develop research processes and operating mechanisms.

Key Requirements

  • •PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • •10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or at least 7 years with an Advanced degree, or 4 years with a PhD.
  • •Strong quantum research track record with high-quality publications and recognized contributions, including deep expertise in areas such as quantum algorithms, optimization, machine learning, cryptography, error correction, or systems/architectures.
  • •Hands-on experience implementing, simulating, and evaluating quantum algorithms, including quantum hardware where applicable.
  • •Demonstrated ability to drive research programs with strong operational discipline, including project planning, coordination, and cross-functional execution.
