Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as a service management subject matter expert for Datadog advocacy and engineering teams across incident response, on-call, work management, workflow automation, agent building, and operational automation.
  • •Create technical content in multiple mediums to build Datadog’s reputation in DevOps, Monitoring, Observability, and Security (demos, public speaking, blogging, documentation, webinars, open source, research reports).
  • •Partner with product engineering teams to build compelling demos and coach internal engineering teams on effective communication and presentation.
  • •Interface with open source communities to drive key messaging and develop new Datadog integrations.
  • •Contribute to the product through feedback, including bug reports, product enhancement suggestions, documentation updates, or code contributions.

Key Requirements

  • •Approximately 5+ years as a Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Software Developer, with hands-on on-call/incident response and production operations experience.
  • •Strong service-management knowledge (incident response, on-call, post-incident reviews, SLOs) and experience with tools like Datadog, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, incident.io, Rootly, Jira Cloud Platform, Cortex (or similar).
  • •Approximately 2+ years of experience creating and delivering storytelling content (written content, conference speaking such as SREcon/DevOpsDays/SREday, workshops, live streams/recorded videos, open source, community events).
  • •Comfort with at least one scripting/programming language (Node.js, Python, Go, bash), plus working with APIs and modern infrastructure such as IaaS cloud services and containers.
  • •Publicly available writing samples, demos, or recordings of technical presentations.
