Job Summary

Assist Herd Technicians with routine animal care and general farm tasks to support animal welfare and farm operations. Feed, water, vaccinate, perform basic veterinary procedures, process piglets (medication injection, castration, docking tails, ear notching), sanitize and wash areas using high-pressure equipment, and help move animals to maintain efficient flow. Maintain accurate production records, follow SOPs and animal welfare policies, and comply with environmental, safety, and biosecurity procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide routine animal care, including feeding, watering, vaccinating, and performing general animal husbandry tasks with basic veterinary procedures.
•Process piglets, including injecting medications, castrating, docking tails, and ear notching.
•Sanitize and wash farm areas using high-pressure equipment and assist with farm sanitation and animal movement.
•Maintain accurate production information and update department records as required.
•Follow animal welfare policies and SOPs, and comply with environmental, safety, and biosecurity laws and procedures.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 16 hourly

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED preferred.
•Previous livestock handling helpful.
•Ability to do hard physical labor and work an average 48-hour work week that can vary frequently.
•Strong commitment to teamwork and ability to follow instructions in standardized situations.
•Willingness to shower daily in and out of the facility, and readiness for weekend, evening, and holiday work plus on-call emergencies.
