Key Responsibilities

  • •Directly manage a team of applied ML scientists (4 today, growing to 6 by end of 2026) and set engineering and modeling practices.
  • •Own strategy and execution for the applied ML domain, including roadmap, priorities, resourcing, and results.
  • •Mentor technically by reviewing PRs, guiding modeling and architecture decisions, and staying current on the codebase and production systems.
  • •Partner with senior leadership, Product, Engineering, and Risk to set priorities and deliver on aggressive timelines.
  • •Own fraud detection and identity models end to end across data acquisition, feature engineering, labeling, training, experimentation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years applying machine learning or statistics to real-world problems, or 7+ years with a relevant PhD, including 6+ years directly managing ML or data science teams.
  • •Experience leading ML/data science teams in fraud, identity, fintech, banking, financial services, payments, or adjacent risk domains.
  • •Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or another quantitative discipline.
  • •Proven success developing and deploying production machine learning models, with experience writing production-quality Python code and tests.
  • •Fluent with modern LLMs and AI-assisted development workflows, with sound judgment handling sensitive data under security and data governance constraints.
