Key Responsibilities

  • •Monitor and assist with feeding, watering, and weighing birds according to schedules.
  • •Monitor and assist with cleaning/disinfecting waterers, changing nest pads, dusting houses, maintaining the feed room, and routine housekeeping duties.
  • •Record egg and bird information (egg numbers/line/source, bird weight, medications, feed intake, and mortality) according to instructions.
  • •Inspect poultry for diseases and remove weak, ill, injured, and dead birds from the flock.
  • •Collect eggs from trap nests, release hens and roosters as needed, record eggs laid per hen, and work to reduce floor eggs through nest training.
