Job Summary

Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Advanced Airframes group, driving design, integration and test of mechanical hardware on onsite Tucson projects. Lead small teams, coordinate with cross-disciplinary engineering and suppliers, develop the technical data package, and contribute to contract-funded and independent research efforts across the product life cycle. Requires CAD proficiency, GD&T, and active DoD Secret clearance.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, integrate, and test hardware within the Advanced Airframes mechanical design department across the product life cycle.
•Lead small teams in completing design/integration/test tasks and coordinate with suppliers and cross-disciplinary teams.
•Communicate and document the design technical data package (TDP) and ensure compliance to requirements.
•Perform design analysis and support to meet program requirements, including travel to suppliers when needed.
•Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and oversee subsystem work within projects.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or advanced degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
•Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), or basic tolerance analyses, and/or drawing practices and interpretation for mechanical hardware.
•Experience with CAD design tools and best practices.
•Experience overseeing suppliers in the fabrication and/or production of mechanical hardware.
•Leadership experience over small teams (4-6 people).
