Job Summary

Partner with ByteDance’s Global Internal Control team to design, implement, and maintain internal controls across global functions. Assess control effectiveness, identify gaps and risks, and translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable control frameworks. Work cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Product, Engineering, and Policy teams to embed controls into business processes, support audits and regulatory inquiries, and help stakeholders understand control expectations without slowing execution.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, implement, and maintain internal controls aligned with global risk assessments of third parties and BPOs.
•Support compliance efforts related to data protection, financial controls, platform governance, and operational risk.
•Partner cross-functionally (Legal, Finance, Product, Engineering, Policy) to embed controls into business processes.
•Assess control effectiveness and identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
•Support audits, regulatory inquiries, and internal assessments; develop documentation, policies, and procedures and provide guidance to stakeholders.

Key Requirements

•5+ years of experience in internal controls, risk management, compliance, audit, or related disciplines.
•Strong knowledge of global regulatory and control environments, including U.S. regulations and operational risk standards.
•Experience supporting regulated, fast-growing organizations, preferably in technology or social media.
•Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to break down complex issues into practical solutions.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills for influencing and partnering with cross-functional, global stakeholders.
