Perform safe sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, and asphalt materials, ensuring accurate analysis, documentation, and reporting. Set up and operate nuclear density gauges for asphalt and soils compaction, follow state DOT and governing agency specifications, and complete construction-material test procedures based on certification levels. Maintain daily lab records and reports, handle asphalt coring when needed, and adhere to MSHA/OSHA safety and environmental best practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Safely collect samples for testing.
•Set up, operate, and maintain nuclear density gauges for asphalt and soils compaction.
•Perform sampling, testing, and reporting procedures per established protocol and record results accurately and timely.
•Maintain daily records of test results, prepare daily reports, and submit results to project lead technician or main lab supervisor.
•Follow MSHA and OSHA regulations and company policies for safe working procedures and environmental best practices.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED preferred.
•One to two years of prior QC experience preferred.
•Western Alliance of Quality Transportation Construction (WAQTC) certifications preferred.

•Ability to read, write, compute basic measurements, present information, and record test results (including knowledge of database software).
