Job Summary

Support Vistra’s nuclear fleet by providing expert engineering for main turbine and generator upgrades, particularly during uprates and major projects. Lead strategic decision-making with site and fleet teams on outage scope, coordinate vendor studies to assess upgrade needs and risks, and help implement upgrade plans. Monitor and analyze turbine/generator performance, develop long-range improvement plans, and provide oversight of in-house and vendor execution to improve reliability and safety.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide proactive engineering support for nuclear power plant main turbines and generators to improve reliability.
•Monitor and analyze turbine/generator issues, identifying and resolving problems proactively.
•Develop and execute long-range improvement plans for turbine and generator assets, including upgrades and reporting Maintenance Rule availability.
•Coordinate with vendors for studies to evaluate upgrade needs, identify risks, and establish upgrade plans.
•Provide oversight of in-house and vendor implementation of field work and serve in a lead/advisory capacity on projects and outage-related scopes.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Bachelors of Science in Engineering (or related science) from an accredited program.
•14+ years of experience, with a minimum of 2 years of nuclear engineering experience (ideal).
•At least 6+ years’ experience with turbines and generators; both Siemens and GE steam turbine experience is desired.
•Technical understanding of nuclear plant processes and programs, including regulatory/code issues.
•Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and able to prepare complex design changes and engineering reports.
