Key Responsibilities

  • •Set and own Chainguard’s European policy strategy, including priorities, positions, target institutions and officials, and narrative.
  • •Engage governments, regulators, and standards bodies across Europe and the UK, including the European Commission, European Parliament, ENISA, and standards organizations.
  • •Determine participation strategy through industry coalitions versus direct advocacy, and represent Chainguard in relevant bodies.
  • •Develop policy positions, consultation responses, and written submissions, and forecast where policy debates are heading before they become public.
  • •Translate technical concepts into policy language and turn emerging requirements into implications for messaging, roadmap, and positioning.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of directly relevant experience in government affairs or public policy, including work in a public sector organization, regulatory/standard-setting body, or comparable private-sector function.
  • •Track record of building independently—standing up or growing a government affairs program and shepherding regulations, standards, or policy strategy through to outcomes.
  • •Senior official engagement experience with the judgment and presence to represent a company credibly at that level.
  • •Ability to translate complex technical subject matter for policy audiences and communicate clearly how you do it.
  • •Based in Europe and able to travel frequently across the region.
