Job Summary

Join the Trend Micro Research Center in Toronto to investigate newly discovered security vulnerabilities across a wide range of software products. You’ll produce technical reports on vulnerabilities and attack vectors, develop network-traffic signatures for detection, and track emerging threats from industry publications and online sources. Work with other vulnerability researchers to support research, analysis, and report production.

Key Responsibilities

•Research newly discovered security vulnerabilities in a wide range of software products.
•Produce reports describing software vulnerabilities and detection of attack vectors.
•Develop signatures for network-traffic-based attack detection.
•Monitor security industry publications, news groups, and online sources for emerging vulnerabilities and threats.
•Collaborate with other vulnerability researchers on research, analysis, and report production.

Key Requirements

•Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or related fields of study.
•Strong desire to learn, demonstrated through personal projects or self-directed learning.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills for conveying highly technical information succinctly and accurately.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrated through past experience.
•Knowledge of operating system and computer organization concepts, OSI/TCP-IP networking fundamentals, and proficiency in two or more of C/C++, Java, and assembly (with additional scripting language knowledge).
