Key Responsibilities

  • •Integrate and/or help select an alternative payment processing or billing provider (setup MID, configure payment methods by country).
  • •Design and build a subscription module for live traffic (status schedules, re-bills, retries, cancels, provider adapters, and state reconciliation with the provider).
  • •Build parallel tests and run staged traffic migration via A/B experiments across countries and payment methods.
  • •Extract the payment module from the monolith into a standalone service with its own database.
  • •Create a payment dashboard, build payment data pipelines in BigQuery, and implement alerts for payment paths.

Key Requirements

  • •Backend production-level experience with Node.js/TypeScript and 5+ years of commercial software engineering.
  • •Experience in payment/subscription billing: rebills/retries, chargebacks, and integrating at least one PSP (Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, Solid or similar).
  • •Ability to design services/modules from scratch for live traffic, including data modeling, idempotency, queues, webhooks, and state reconciliation.
  • •Experience integrating with external APIs end-to-end: rate limits, error handling, retries, and monitoring.
  • •Ownership mindset: identify risks, propose solutions, and shape the backlog with the business-side squad.
