Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide high-level technical assistance and guidance for the design of electrical systems (lighting, controls, fire alarm, power distribution) for healthcare and other facility projects.
  • •Develop drawings and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors, and building owners while coordinating with multi-discipline team members.
  • •Design electrical power and emergency power systems and fire alarm/life safety systems, including lighting and lighting control systems.
  • •Perform electrical calculations (load, short circuit, voltage drop), schedule and select electrical components and equipment, and support construction administration services.
  • •Supervise and mentor younger engineers, attend client/stakeholder meetings, and coordinate with regulatory agencies and subcontractors confidently.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering.
  • •7-10 years of relevant post-education experience designing electrical systems for industrial/pharmaceutical, laboratories, commercial, institutional/higher education, healthcare, or similar facilities.
  • •Professional engineering license is preferred.
  • •Proficient in electrical engineering principles, practices, design/build processes, and permitting/project-related issues.
  • •Extensive knowledge of electrical building design, including construction management and working knowledge of applicable electrical laws, codes, regulations, and compliance/record-keeping requirements.
