Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance requirements are met across the care home and grounds, including fire authority, environmental health, and Legionella risk assessment.
  • •Carry out maintenance, repair, and refurbishment/capex tasks to a high standard and in a timely manner, ensuring value for money and minimal disruption.
  • •Complete health and safety/compliance checks using provided digital systems and Bupa compliance management tools and software.
  • •Report defects, obtain quotes, manage repairs with Bupa-approved contractors, and escalate irreparable defects appropriately.
  • •Maintain tools and equipment securely and assist with induction on emergency exits, fire points, and evacuation procedures, keeping required records.

Key Requirements

  • •Maintain buildings and equipment while complying with Bupa Standard Operating Procedures and relevant legislation.
  • •Have a good understanding of building services (heating, hot/cold water, ventilation, electrical distribution, plumbing) and building fabric maintenance.
  • •Have practical experience of planned maintenance systems and record keeping.
  • •Know relevant statutory requirements and have experience working with compliance.
  • •Hold a full driving licence and a building/electrical/plumbing qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC etc) or at least 3 years hands-on property maintenance and general repairs.
