Key Responsibilities

  • •Maintain a safe and efficient engine room watch in accordance with company procedures and statutory regulations.
  • •Monitor and operate main propulsion machinery, auxiliary systems, and associated equipment, keeping pressure, temperature, and levels within safe limits.
  • •Respond promptly to alarms, machinery faults, and emergency situations; carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance during watchkeeping duties.
  • •Assist the Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer with planned maintenance and repair activities and manage fuel, lube oil, and cooling systems during operations.
  • •Maintain accurate engine room logbooks and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and pollution prevention regulations (MARPOL, SOLAS), including supervising junior crew during assigned watches and coordinating with the bridge for vessel operations.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor of Marine/Mechanical Engineering.
  • •Basic & Advanced STCW training certificate.
  • •Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer.
  • •Minimum 5 years rank experience on Dredger, preferably on SPCSD.
  • •Demonstrated ability to keep safe and efficient engine room operations in accordance with procedures and statutory regulations.
