Job Summary

Serve as the primary airworthiness advocate for multiple Pratt & Whitney military engine programs, guiding Airworthiness execution through IPT/CIPT/SIPT planning, certification basis recommendations, and alignment across Airworthiness, V&V, Safety, and Requirements Management. Lead compliance planning, risk communication, and customer coordination to achieve Military Flight Release (MFR) or Military Type Certificate (MTC), including drafting airworthiness plans and supporting model-based engineering implementation.

Key Responsibilities

•Participate in IPT/CIPT/SIPT planning for Airworthiness, recommend Certification Bases, and align stakeholders across Airworthiness, V&V, Safety, and Requirements Management.
•Ensure advance compliance plans, communicate risk and mitigations, and advocate for Airworthiness compliance amid competing program priorities.
•Serve as the primary airworthiness advisor to CIPTs/IPTs to help customers achieve Military Flight Release (MFR) or Military Type Certificate (MTC) for new programs and engineering changes.
•Author drafts of Airworthiness Plans and Certification Bases in conjunction with CIPTs, per customer direction.
•Represent the Airworthiness function in IPT/CIPT/SIPT meetings and assist with administration of Airworthiness processes and standard work tools.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent STEM degree.
•8+ years of experience in military Airworthiness and/or civil certification and/or engineering & requirements management (or advanced degree with 5+ years).
•Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
•Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering.
•Experience interfacing with U.S. Government customers regarding challenging deliverables and risk negotiation.
