Key Responsibilities

  • •Identify and lead new Federal training and readiness business pursuits by leveraging Akima’s portfolio across capabilities including LVC, synthetic integration, distributed mission operations, and training systems sustainment.
  • •Build, qualify, and maintain a pipeline of strategic opportunities generally valued at $500M+ aligned to growth priorities, supporting bookings and revenue growth.
  • •Lead multiple concurrent priority captures from qualification through award and transition, including customer engagement, competitive assessment, acquisition shaping, win strategy, teaming, staffing, pricing, and proposal readiness.
  • •Identify enterprise-scale, cross-company opportunities and formulate integrated offerings that bridge Akima solutions, relationships, subject matter expertise, contract vehicles, geographic presence, and past performance.
  • •Orchestrate end-to-end capture and proposal execution activities, including reviews (e.g., executive/color team reviews), bid/no-bid recommendations, and coordination across operations, technical, pricing, contracts, legal, recruiting, finance, and proposal teams.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of progressive Federal business development and capture experience, including DoD experience and deep knowledge of the Federal acquisition process, FAR, and contract vehicles.
  • •Track record winning large (>$500M) complex Federal pursuits using cross-functional, operationally federated teams, preferably with recent training and readiness wins.
  • •Demonstrated experience in the Federal training and readiness market, including areas such as warfighter training/readiness, LVC/synthetic training, distributed mission operations, modeling and simulation, wargaming, range operations, aviation training, training systems integration, or digital learning.
  • •Deep, established relationships within a major DoD training and readiness acquisition/operational ecosystem (e.g., CPE ST3, NAWCTSD, PM TRASYS, AFLCMC Training Directorate, TECOM) and the ability to shape acquisition strategies ahead of solicitations.
  • •Active Secret or higher-level security clearance ability/requirement, with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
