Perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced diagnostic repairs on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a mobile/field environment. Serve as the lead technician for complex triage, road-test vehicles, use handheld instruments, maintain parts/inventory on a company service truck, and complete DOT documentation and repair orders via an iOS device and proprietary TRAIT app. Ensure safety compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs for light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair vehicle systems including electrical/brake/cooling, starters/alternators, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
•Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using test instruments (including handheld computers and pressure gauges), and road test vehicles to confirm proper operation.
•Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on a company-issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation, and maintain the service vehicle with pre-/post-trip inspections.
•Document findings and complete DOT forms and repair orders (ROs), uploading pictures and parts used using a company-issued iOS device and the proprietary TRAIT application.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of related experience (or equivalent combination such as 3 years with an additional degree/certification, or 7 years related experience).
•At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
•Possess and supply the hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
•OEM training and certifications are preferred, and complete all required company training.
•Hold a valid DOT medical card (or be able to pass a DOT physical), be 21+ years old, and have a valid driver’s license with a maintained Driver Qualification File.
