Job Summary

Lead mechanical engineering for hyperscale data center projects, acting as a client-facing point of contact while coordinating cross-discipline efforts to deliver HVAC, piping, and fire suppression systems on budget and on schedule. Develop mechanical equipment specifications, discipline plans, and reports, keep current on codes and technologies, and analyze system performance for optimization. Provide construction-phase technical support and attend site visits and commissioning activities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as primary point of contact for clients, responding to inquiries and concerns professionally and on time.
•Coordinate multiple disciplines and lead mechanical engineering work to deliver projects within budget and on schedule while managing the mechanical team for HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing.
•Develop detailed mechanical equipment specifications for pumps, fans, and air handling units.
•Write internal and external reports based on findings and ensure discipline plans meet project scope and schedule requirements.
•Provide construction-phase technical support (RFIs, issues), and attend job site visits, project meetings, and commissioning activities as needed.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 10 years of relevant mechanical design/engineering experience focused on data center infrastructure, or demonstrated equivalency.
•Professional Engineer License (P.E.) is required.
•Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, and fire suppression systems design and construction.
•Experience working with computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software.
•Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
