Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare detailed cost estimates for all phases of mining projects, including exploration, development, extraction, processing, and reclamation.
  • •Monitor and control capital and operating costs for mining equipment, infrastructure, labor, materials, and consumables against approved budgets.
  • •Conduct financial modeling and feasibility analysis, including life-of-mine (LOM) cost modeling, to support project viability decisions.
  • •Assist with tendering and contract management by preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating terms to optimize costs.
  • •Track expenditures vs. budgets, analyze variances, manage financial risks and contingencies, evaluate change orders, and produce cost reports and forecasts; coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mining, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering), Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • •Master’s degree or advanced certifications in Mining Engineering, Cost Engineering, or Business Administration (preferred).
  • •Certified Cost Engineer (CCE) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) from AACE International.
  • •Proficiency in cost estimation, project budgeting, and cost control/management for mining projects.
  • •Minimum 5-10 years of experience in cost estimation and control within the mining industry, including gold mining or similar resource extraction projects; familiarity with SAP, Primavera, or CostX is expected.
