Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and ship the frontend architecture for the Portable Platform so React engineers can write once and run across web and React Native.
  • •Lead the transition from a pure React Web codebase to React Web plus React Native, making decisions that shape long-term frontend evolution.
  • •Own web implementations of shared Portable Platform component abstractions that work consistently across iOS, Android, and browser.
  • •Support upskilling of 600+ frontend engineers through code standards, documentation, design reviews, and direct collaboration.
  • •Bring SSR and React Server Components into the portable frontend story, including how the backend wires to the portable frontend layer, while staying hands-on in the codebase.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep understanding of how React works (reconciliation, rendering model, server component model) and the decisions beneath the framework surface.
  • •Demonstrated, measurable performance improvements on complex frontend products and ability to validate benchmarks.
  • •Experience with portable/cross-platform codebases that run across more than one runtime and trade-offs of abstracting at the component layer.
  • •Understanding of the React Native mental model and differences vs React Web when targeting both runtimes.
  • •Hands-on delivery through writing code, recent commits, design docs, and code reviews.
