Job Summary

Work as a First Line Support Production Engineer in the Production Engineering department at the Wilton factory, responding to engineering disturbance notices and using the production operator dashboard to support output. You’ll troubleshoot and document production interruptions, develop short-term containments and structural solutions, manage failed parts and rework paths, and escalate structural process or procedural issues to the Competency Production Engineering team during back-end night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

•Troubleshoot and document interruptions on the production floor in partnership with expert opticians and technicians.
•Develop and implement short-term containments and structural solutions for production issues.
•Escalate structural process/procedural issues to the Competency Production Engineering team and consult on solution space.
•Evaluate, disposition, and manage failed parts to determine rework paths and generate detailed reports after machine failure.
•Support production quality improvement by presenting daily reports and supporting root-cause/cycle-time analysis and manufacturing procedure work instructions.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in a technical engineering discipline with prior internship experience in production or manufacturing.
•Bachelor’s degree in Physics or Material Science is considered.
•0–1 year of work experience in a high-tech production/manufacturing environment.
•Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and document production interruptions.
•Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical and optical drawings.
