Job Summary

Develop and oversee safety strategy for Qantas Group VIC/TAS/SA business areas, including the implementation of safety frameworks, policies and procedures. Work with business units to minimise injuries, damage and environmental impact, improve hazard identification and mitigation, and ensure regulatory compliance while driving a proactive safety culture. Operate in an advisory capacity within the regional safety advisory team based at Melbourne Airport.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop, implement, and oversee safety strategy, including system and framework policies/procedures for VIC/TAS/SA business areas.
•Work with business units to ensure regulatory compliance and deliver a proactive safety culture.
•Minimise or eliminate injuries to persons, and damage to equipment, infrastructure, or the environment where practicable.
•Improve identification, mitigation against, and resolution of relevant hazards across the region.
•Provide advisory support to the regional safety advisory team in executing safety governance.

Key Requirements

•Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
•Experience in an HSE position, demonstrating delivery of improvement.
•Demonstrated ability to develop and implement safety strategies within a large operational business.

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with staff, management and regulators at all levels.
