Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, build, and maintain secure, modular, horizontally scalable back-end microservices for identity verification.
  • •Own gRPC/Protobuf contracts and REST/OpenAPI interfaces, ensuring versioning and backward compatibility.
  • •Build robust, high-throughput Apache Kafka streaming pipelines to process transaction lifecycle events and coordinate downstream verification steps.
  • •Model and optimize distributed data access across NoSQL databases, search/indexing systems, and caching layers with consistency, idempotency, and retention/compliance in mind.
  • •Provide technical leadership by mentoring engineers and collaborating with ML, Infrastructure, and Product teams to deploy computer vision models and vendor integrations into production.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of back-end/server software engineering experience delivering production-grade, distributed services or platforms.
  • •Deep proficiency with Kotlin (or strong Java transitioning to Kotlin) including modern JVM concurrency and Kotlin Coroutines.
  • •Hands-on microservices and API experience using gRPC/Protobuf and/or REST, including API design, versioning, and inter-service communication.
  • •Demonstrated event streaming and asynchronous messaging experience, with Apache Kafka preferred, including consumer scaling and idempotent/exactly-once processing.
  • •Comfort operating services in public cloud environments using Kubernetes, plus familiarity with containerization, service meshes, and infrastructure-as-code.
