Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide proactive and strategic leadership for the scientific discipline to ensure deliverables are achieved within the business sector.
  • •Lead geotechnical engineering projects, including preparing and overseeing budgets and schedules, ensuring technical quality, and managing financial performance.
  • •Apply senior-level geotechnical expertise to advanced investigations and engineering design (including site exploration, permit applications, instrumentation, foundation and earthquake engineering, and concept/feasibility studies).
  • •Foster compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local environmental laws, policies, and regulatory requirements, including environmental/safety administration and record-keeping.
  • •Supervise subcontractors, perform periodic construction observation/site visits, and mentor staff with performance guidance and leadership.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical Engineering focus (or closely related); Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Geotechnical Engineering is a plus.
  • •15+ years of engineer experience in a corporate environment.
  • •Professional engineering license in North Carolina, or ability to become licensed within six months.
  • •Advanced proficiency in geotechnical engineering principles, design/build processes, and standard of care.
  • •Strong leadership and ability to independently provide guidance and perform QA/QC and critical review of complex technical deliverables and plans.
