Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as a Design Lead for project elements, coordinating with clients and the design team for day-to-day design development under supervision of a Technical Lead
  • •Manage more junior engineers in the design of infrastructure elements
  • •Contribute to the development of designs and deliverables for tunnelling and underground structures
  • •Support project delivery across UK and international sites, ensuring technical quality and compliance with standards
  • •Collaborate with other disciplines to integrate tunnelling solutions into overall project design

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in Civil or Civil & Structural Engineering, and/or MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics/Geotechnical/Tunnelling Engineering, with/working towards a professional membership
  • •Broad experience as a designer in reinforced concrete to Eurocodes for underground structures (secant piles, capping beams, segmental shaft linings, in situ concrete elements, D-Walls, shafts and tunnels)
  • •Familiarity with geotechnical engineering principles as they apply to soil-structure interaction
  • •Willingness to consider part-time options alongside full-time employment
