Job Summary

Lead ecology work within the WSP Ecology team, partnering with specialists across the UK to support clients’ projects. Oversee technical quality and workload planning with regional leadership, while generating opportunities, preparing tenders, and managing ecological deliverables across technical, commercial, and financial areas. Provide site- and office-based mentoring for junior ecologists, and contribute to an engaged, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

•Generate opportunities, prepare tenders, and oversee delivery and management of ecological deliverables for client projects.

Key Requirements

•Experience across a range of UK habitats and protected species, holding (or having held) survey and/or mitigation licences.
•Devising and delivering survey programmes, developing pragmatic cost-effective mitigation, gaining agreement of regulators, and supervising on-site implementation.
•Experience in Ecological Impact Assessment and writing Environmental Statement chapters.
•Experience of Habitats Regulations Assessment.
•A proven record winning commercial work, particularly in residential, mixed-use and industrial sectors.
