Key Responsibilities

  • •Identify, assess, and manage risks related to component obsolescence to ensure continuous availability of critical components.
  • •Monitor component lifecycles, forecast potential obsolescence issues, and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • •Perform BOM scrubbing and risk assessment, and analyze obsolescence notifications (PDNs, PCNs, obsolescence alerts) to identify alternates.
  • •Continuously monitor alerts and input them into the component database, evaluating impact at part, BOM, assembly, and product/unit levels.
  • •Validate selected components across projects and provide feedback; suggest and support best alternate solutions with design and purchasing teams.

Key Requirements

  • •2-4 years of experience in obsolescence management and component obsolescence monitoring.
  • •Expertise in BOM/part obsolescence monitoring and PDN/PCN processing.
  • •Experience working with PLM tools such as Wind-chill, PALMA, or Teamcenter.
  • •Proficiency in parts/component database management and maintaining component data.
  • •Automation experience using tools/languages such as Excel, Python, VBA scripts, C, or C++.
