Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and implement department policies and practices aligned to the school’s vision, aims, and teaching/learning standards.
  • •Establish, monitor, and evaluate short-, medium-, and long-term department development plans.
  • •Use school data to identify underachieving students and create action plans to support progress.
  • •Ensure schemes of work are developed, reviewed, and evaluated, including provision for SEN/POD, G&T, and EAL students.
  • •Performance manage the team and ensure effective deployment of staff/resources and control of departmental budgets and CapEx.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.
  • •Minimum of 3-year teaching experience.
  • •Secure knowledge of teaching the English National Curriculum (UK curriculum).
  • •Proven track record implementing strategies to raise standards and plug learning gaps.
