Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare, review, and approve transmission line tower and foundation design and associated documents/accessories.
  • •Prepare engineering documents related to transmission tower and foundation design, including calculations and documentation.
  • •Design according to relevant codes and standards and optimize tower/foundation weight for tender quantities.
  • •Perform sag and tension calculations and provide approximate tower weight at tender stage.
  • •Use PLS Tower/PLS CADD/PLS Pole to produce tower, line, and pole designs; support bill of quantities and coordinate design changes during build.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven experience designing UK overhead line circuits (towers and/or poles) at any voltage up to 400kV.
  • •Bachelor’s in civil/structural or electrical engineering, with 15+ years’ experience (UK project and UK standards experience is an advantage).
  • •Ability to lead and mentor teams, independently manage projects, and ensure high-quality delivery within schedule and budget.
  • •Knowledge of applicable engineering standards and the ability to design in line with codes and standards.
  • •Experience using PLS-CADD, PLS Tower, PLS Pole (or similar) for transmission line and pole design.
