Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead detailed ELV designs including CCTV system design (coverage, recording/storage architecture, and integration with access control platforms).
  • •Design access control and intruder detection/alarm systems, including compliance to EN 50131/PD 6662 and zone/grade planning.
  • •Lead fire detection and alarm system design in compliance with EN 54 and BS 5839-1, including cause-and-effect matrices and interfaces.
  • •Design PA/VA systems to EN 60849/BS 5839-8 with intelligibility, loudspeaker layout, amplifier sizing, and zoning strategies.
  • •Create and coordinate ELV/ICT/structured cabling designs (Cat6A, OM3/OM4 fibre, TR/ER, ICT room infrastructure) and act as technical reviewer/approver for ELV deliverables across projects.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • •Substantial ELV design experience in building services or security engineering, with a portfolio covering CCTV, access control, fire detection, and PA/VA systems.
  • •Deep knowledge of ELV standards including EN 54, EN 50131/PD 6662, EN 60849/BS 5839-8, ISO/IEC 11801, and EN 50173.
  • •Experience delivering ELV design across the full project lifecycle and supporting construction activities (RIBA Stages 1–6 or equivalent).
  • •Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP for ELV design documentation and modelling.
