Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the asphalt distributor on road construction projects.
  • •Set spray bar settings to apply liquid asphalt using manual, automatic, or semi-automatic distributors.
  • •Oil, grease, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
  • •Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to a supervisor.
  • •Assist with related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, and adding or removing screed extensions.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a current CDL license, preferably with Tanker endorsement.
  • •Learn and operate an asphalt distributor truck on road construction projects.
  • •Set spray bars on manual, automatic, or semi-automatic distributors for applying liquid asphalt.
  • •Perform minor servicing, normal operating adjustments, and maintenance, or refer major problems to a supervisor.
  • •Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos, and perform basic arithmetic using fractions and decimals.
