Job Summary

Develop and deliver grid connection services projects across the UK and Ireland, supporting electrical design through power system studies and detailed grid-code compliance work. Perform grid connection due diligence, including prospecting, optioneering, risk and capacity assessments, and contribute to PS&E package deliverables. Coordinate interdisciplinary reviews, provide technical specifications and cost/effort estimates, and liaise with OEMs and clients, including support for bids and proposals.

Key Responsibilities

•Support delivery of electrical design through power system studies.
•Undertake power system/grid code compliance studies using tools such as PowerFactory, PSCAD, and PSS/E.
•Conduct grid connection due diligence including grid prospecting, connection optioneering, risk assessment, and capacity/constraints assessment.
•Develop construction cost estimates and technical effort estimates, and perform quality control reviews of design calculations/drawings.
•Prepare technical specification sections, contribute to engineering budget/schedule planning, and liaise with OEMs and clients to drive technical outcomes (including bid/proposal support).

Key Requirements

•Proven professional experience working for an engineering design consultancy, an OEM, or utility network planning and connections.
•Understanding of transmission and distribution planning and customer connection processes for regulated and industrial networks.
•Strong knowledge of UK technical requirements (UK Grid Code, G99, G5/5, P28) for connecting new generators and loads (Ireland Grid Code knowledge beneficial).
•Proficiency with PSCAD, PowerFactory, and Python scripting.
•Knowledge of high-voltage substation control/protection principles, with basic understanding of power electronics and control systems for renewable technologies.
