Perform brake and switching operations as part of a rail operations crew in Fort Sill under the Rail Operations Supervisor. Ensure safety rule compliance (GCOR/ABTH), support emergency repairs and organizational/preventive maintenance, and instruct/inspect personnel on required tiedown and rail-movement procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Relay signals for train movement using hand signals, lanterns, flags, and hand-held radios.
•Mount railroad cars and set brakes; place blocks or chocks against wheels, including stopping motor traffic at crossings.
•Couple/uncouple cars and operate switch points to move rail cars and locomotives onto different tracks.
•Check car numbers to ensure movement of specific cars; operate handbrakes before detaching cars from the locomotive.
•Assist with emergency repairs and perform organizational/preventive maintenance; ensure safety rules are observed and instruct/inspect personnel on tiedown instructions.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•High school graduate (or equivalent).
•Complete online Container Inspection for Commercial and Military Intermodal Containers (MIL HDBK 138A).
•Obtain a forklift license for all equipment (4K to 50K).
•Pass a pre-employment drug test and background screening.
•Receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation result, obtain and maintain a CAC, and hold a REAL ID-compliant state-issued driver’s license.
