Key Responsibilities

  • •Contribute to, analyze, and optimize core ClickHouse database performance across query optimization, distributed query optimization, relational operators, caching, and low-level optimizations.
  • •Extend and add performance tests based on real-world or synthetic datasets to ensure performance does not deteriorate over time.
  • •Serve as a resource for Support Engineering by debugging advanced performance issues, including participating in an on-call rotation and external community support channels.
  • •Collaborate with other teams to assess the performance and reliability impact of new features as the system evolves.
  • •Work with the open-source community by resolving issues, reviewing and completing PRs, and answering questions via mail, chats, groups, and Slack channels.

Key Requirements

  • •Solid professional software development experience in C++, including Unix systems experience.
  • •Strong knowledge of database internals and design.

  • •Strong problem-solving skills with solid production debugging experience.
