Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage and practically participate in the day-to-day operations of the Wildlife Rescue Centre.
  • •Ensure safe zoological operations by leading safe animal management practices, inspections, risk assessments, and incident/near-miss reviews.
  • •Oversee animal welfare and rehabilitation activities, including husbandry, enrichment, behavioral monitoring, welfare assessments, and rehabilitation progress decisions.
  • •Provide direct leadership, supervision, coaching, and mentorship to operational staff, including onboarding, competency-based training, and performance feedback.
  • •Coordinate rescue and emergency response activities and ensure facility, asset, resource, biosecurity, and documentation requirements are maintained.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology, Wildlife Management, Animal Science, Conservation Biology, Veterinary Technology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • •Minimum 7 years of zoological, wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, animal management, or conservation experience.
  • •Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or management position.
  • •Experience managing animal care teams and operational staff.
  • •Experience working with potentially dangerous, protected, or exotic wildlife, and implementing safe zoological operating practices.
